◆ Case 2: The Eerie Fate of Umberto I ◆

Umberto I was the King of Italy from 1878 to 1900. On July 28, 1900, he entered a restaurant in Monza with his aide-de-camp.

The owner of the establishment looked very similar to the King, and this did not escape Umberto I's notice. Thus, the King invited the restaurateur to his table.

During a shared conversation in the dining room, they discovered further intersections in both of their lives.

The owner was also named Umberto and, like the King, was born in Turin on the same day. His wife’s name was Margarita, whom he married on the same day Umberto married his Queen Margarita.

The restaurant was opened on the day Umberto was crowned King. Both men were fascinated by the chain of coincidences in their lives.
For this reason, Umberto I invited the innkeeper to attend the athletic competitions with him the following day.

The next day, the King learned that the restaurant owner had been mortally wounded by a bullet in a mysterious accident that same morning. Then, another coincidence occurred that could not have been more tragic: Umberto I was assassinated on the same day by four shots from a revolver in Monza.

There are other mysterious cases in the world. The Lincoln-Kennedy riddle.
